Stronger PCr depletion and pH drop were found proximally rather than distally with ³¹P MRS, while at the same time stronger perfusion and $T_2^{\ast }$‐weighted signal increases were found with ¹H MRI in the more metabolically active proximal regions of gastrocnemius muscle.
