Annotation was carried out by performing a Blast comparison between the rebuilt sequences and Repeatmasker data. * indicates MEI that were detected in the same sample. Molecular confirmation was performed by dedicated MEI PCR followed by Sanger sequencing, except for events 12 and 13, which were confirmed by next-generation sequencing analysis.
