Figure 6.

Figure 6 is a stained tissue with three columns, namely, C A 1, C A 3, and D G, and seven rows, namely, control, 0.5 micrometer (100 micrograms per liter), 0.5 micrometer (1,000 micrograms per liter), 4 micrometers (100 micrograms per liter), 4 micrometers (1,000 micrograms per liter), 10 micrometers (100 micrograms per liter), and 10 micrometers (1,000 micrograms per liter) with a scale bar of 200 micrometers.

Hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) staining in brain sections and expression of proapoptotic proteins in the hippocampus of mice treated with polystyrene microplastics (PS-MPs). H&E staining was used to stain hippocampal CA1, CA3, and DG regions. Hematoxylin stained the cell nuclei blue, and eosin stained the extracellular matrix and cytoplasm pink (scale bar: 30μm) (N=3 mice/group, n = 3 slides/mice). Note: CA1, cornu ammonis 1; CA3, cornu ammonis 3; DG, dentate gyrus.
