Vascular supply to the eye. (a) The central retinal artery is a branch of the ophthalmic artery. In central retinal artery occlusion (Green cross marks site of occlusion), the blood supply to the retina is interrupted. (b) Patients with a cilioretinal artery have supplied to the macula stemming from the short posterior ciliary artery.
