The cell extracts (10 μg of total protein) prepared from log-phase cultures were fractionated on a sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel (12%) and electroblotted onto a polyvinylidene difluoride membrane. The membrane was probed with anti-CAT and anti-β-lactamase rabbit antibodies, and the signals were detected with alkaline phosphatase-conjugated goat anti-rabbit immunoglobulin G by using BCIP (5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolylphosphate) and nitroblue tetrazolium (17).
