PR₅₀ binds C1QBP and inhibits its function, resulting in mtROS production and mtDNA escape. Finally, NLRP3 inflammasome activity in microglia is induced. Syringin (SRG) treatment reduced the interaction between C1QBP and PR₅₀, and hence attenuated PR₅₀-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activity in microglia as well as PR-CM-caused apoptosis in motor neuron cell.
