MUC1-C promotes chromatin remodeling in coupling memory with progression of the CSC state. (A). The inflammatory MUC1-C→STAT3 auto-inductive node induces the EMT program, stem cell factors and CSC state as evidenced by self-renewal capacity and tumorigenicity [43].
