Glutamic acid (Glu) and aspartic acid (Asp) are umami amino acids; alanine (Ala), glycine (Gly), serine (Ser), proline (Pro), and threonine (Thr) are sweet amino acids; leucine (Leu), isoleucine (Ile), valine (Val), phenylalanine (Phe), methionine (Met), histidine (His), and arginine (Arg) are bitter amino acids.
