Current nonexcessive drinkers were defined as those who had >12 alcoholic drinks in their lifetime and, for male drinkers, had on average <15 drinks per week in the past year; for female drinkers, on average had <8 alcoholic drinks per week in the past year. Current excessive drinkers were defined as those who drink, on average, more than current nonexcessive drinkers in the past year.
