Cell death after treatment with various concentrations of styrene (white rectangle) and styrene-7,8-oxide (black rectangle) (0–800 μM) for 48 h. Cell death was assessed by flow cytometry. The percentage of cells with a sub-G1 DNA content was taken as a measure of cell death. At least three independent experiments were performed and data shown are the mean±SD. * p<0.01 compared to control.
