Significant effects of bovine TRIM5 on the inhibition of HIV-1 vectors in MDBK cells. (a) The mRNA expression of TRIM5 in MDBK cells transfected with siRNA targeting TRIM5 or control siRNA was measured by qRT-PCR. (b) MDBK cells transfected with siRNA targeting TRIM5 or control siRNA were infected with different amounts of HIV-1 vectors encoding ZsGreen reporter protein. The fluorescence, which is a surrogate marker of infection, was measured using a flow cytometer 2 days after infection. The results are presented as the mean and standard deviation of triplicate measurements from one assay, and they are representative of at least three independent experiments. Differences were examined by a two-tailed, unpaired Student’s t-test. ****p < 0.0001, ***p < 0.001.
