Stimulation of CB1 and CB2 receptors in endometriotic epithelial cells (12Z) and endometrial stromal cells (HESC) attenuates proliferation by triggering apoptosis. (A) Treatment with various concentrations of WIN 55 leads to attenuation of proliferation in a dose-dependent manner. (B) Caspase 3/7 activity in the cell supernatant showed that WIN 55 exposure triggered apoptosis in 12Z cells. (C) WIN 55 exposure in HESC cells showed concentration-dependent reduction in proliferation with WIN 55 concentration as low as 1 μM. (D) Apoptosis in HESC cells exposed to WIN 55 showed a similar dose-dependent increase in caspase 3/7 activity as observed in 12Z cells.
