Flexible and Programmatic Deep Brain Targeting

Successful sonication of the left and right LGN and left and right amygdala is shown in a second NHP subject. The coordinates used to target each region are listed at the bottom of each image. These results demonstrate the capacity to reach a broad range of targets, including nuclei within the limbic system such as amygdala. As in Figure 1, these high-intensity sonications are for visualization purposes only—neuromodulation pulses use ten to one hundred times less energy.
