Tips, Pearls, and Pitfalls

Tips and Pearls
  • - A central transtendinous portal provides a global perspective of the intercondylar notch and the anterior cruciate ligament’s footprints.

  • - The allograft should be prepared to be 10 mm wide, to be able to deliver two 5-mm wide split allografts.

Pitfalls
  • - The screw of the ACL tibial tunnel should be of the same diameter of the graft and the tunnel, and not wider, because the presence of the bone plug, and the hardness of the tibial cortex may break the biodegradable interference screw.
