The left (“ancestor”) boxes include copies present in the genomes of the German Shepherd, Great Dane, and Boxer; the right boxes include daughter copies present in one or two dog breeds. Notice that the daughter copies have much longer poly(A) tails; in three cases (B, C, and F), the terminators are significantly shortened in daughter copies relative to parental ones.
