1,2-dihydroxypropionaldehyde (GLAD) and 1,3-dihydroxyacetone (DHA) are direct oxidation products of glycerol. Their contents were extremely low, so they were not detected by GC-MS. They reacted with glycerol to form impurities 3 and 4, respectively.
