Hair levels were logarithmically transformed for modeling purposes because raw differences of a given magnitude have differing meanings depending on whether hair levels are high or low and differing meanings across different drugs, while relative differences of a given magnitude remain comparably meaningful in these different situations. Regression coefficients were back-transformed from the log scale to obtain fold-effects.
