For random networks, each mean R _syn and its standard deviations were computed from the 50 network realizations. The synchronization level in the core increases abruptly as the number of cells increases. Compared to the core, the synchronization level in the shell increases gradually, with the distance-dependent coupling network being more sensitive to the population size.
