The ubc7Δ and ubc7Δ ole1-20 cells expressing indicated GFP- or mCh-tagged proteins were grown at 34°C for 5 h. Projection images are shown. Scale bar, 2 µm. Cells were scored for the phenotypes as described in the diagram and are shown as the mean ± SD from three experiments (n > 200 cells for each sample). Red arrows indicate the normal perinuclear signal of the proteins in ubc7Δ ole1-20 cells, whereas other double mutant cells exhibit aberrant patterns without a clear perinuclear signal.
