Helical representation of the CB1 receptor. The seven-transmembrane receptor is embedded into the cell membrane, having extracellular helices extending into the extracellular environment and the intracellular helices protruding into the intracellular environment where it interacts with the Guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(i) subunit alpha-1. The extracellular domain has an N-terminal that possesses glycosylation sites, while the intracellular domain has a C-terminal coupled to a G-protein complex. Adapted from reference [26].
