SDS-PAGE was performed with 14% polyacrylamide gels and the proteins were visualized by Coomassie blue staining. The first lane of each gel contained the prestained low-molecular-weight markers 43,000, 29,000, 18,400, 14,300, 6,200, 3,400, and 2,300 (Gibco BRL). The arrows indicate the locations of the NspA protein bands.
