PBD-1 peptides were active against E. coli. The results of CFU assays with E. coli ATCC 35218 are shown. Controls: T₀, initial bacterial inoculum; T_3h, bacteria after 3 h at 37°C in 10 mM sodium phosphate. Bacteria were incubated with the indicated concentrations of PBD-1₄₂ or PBD-1₃₈ at 37°C for 3 h before being plated on Trypticase soy agar plates.
