Boxplots depict (A) age, (B) Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) total score, and (C) Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Cognitive Function (FACT-Cog) total score across women who were diagnosed with and undergoing chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer (BC) and healthy controls (HC). Boxes represent the first and third quartiles, and horizontal lines within boxes represent median values. Whiskers represent non-outlier high and low values, and diamonds represent outliers as defined by having a value greater than 1.5 times the interquartile range (IQR) of the first or third quartile. In (B), lower FACT-Cog values in BC indicate more cognitive difficulties, and in (C), higher CES-D scores in BC indicate higher depressive symptoms.
