Data for soleus fibres in control and in the presence of 1 µM OM. For comparison also data for psoas fibres are reported (from ref. 33 and new data). Data are mean ± SEM. In brackets the number of fibres used for each temperature. # mean calculated by pooling data from new experiments with data from ref. 33. In each of the three cases the statistical significance of the temperature effect is tested with one-way ANOVA as detailed in Supplementary Table 2. The soleus values in control of F0 and nH at 35.6 °C are not significantly different from the corresponding psoas values at 6.0 °C (P = 0.24 and 0.16 respectively).
