IC50 and selectivity index determination. IC50 values were estimated from the dose/growth response curves of SCFAs determined by SRB assay after 48 h of treatment in normal (NCM460) and CRC (HCT-15, RKO) cells. Values derived from at least three independent experiments. The selectivity index was calculated through the division of the IC50 values obtained for each compound in the two CRC-derived cells, RKO and HCT-15, by the IC50 value obtained for the same compound in normal colon-derived cells, NCM460.
