The different mechanisms by which melatonin may improve MSCs-based cell transplantation.

The upper part of the figure shows the main effects stimulated by melatonin and responsible for the reduction of apoptosis and senescence, as shown in the lower part of the figure. The improved mitochondrial functions and trafficking via TNTs may represent the key mechanisms by which melatonin may improve MSCs cell transplantation and organ functions.
