The predicted photoelectron energies for ionization via these states are shown in Figure 7c). For each Rydberg state, the intensity required to ponderomotively shift the transition into 6-photon resonance with the 800 nm laser field is also given. The energies of the Rydberg states are taken from ref. (70). Only the Rydberg states with ω (total angular momentum projection quantum number) of 2 are shown as the variation of Rydberg state energy with ω is relatively small. Note that we are using the more recent reassignment of these Rydberg features given in ref (71). Previously (in ref (70)), the features now assigned to nd Rydberg states were incorrectly assigned to (n + 2)s Rydberg states.
