Strictureplasty. Surgical procedure performed to alleviate narrowing of the intestine due to scar tissue that has built up from chronic inflammation. Strictures are repaired by widening the narrowed area without removing any portion of the intestine. The classic Heineke–Mikulicz strictureplasty procedure involves a single longitudinal incision over the strictured area (A) and transverse closure of the enterotomy (B and C)
