Current density distribution diagram.

The left panels indicate cross-sectional current distribution within the nerve at the midpoint between the two needles. Red indicates higher current density and blue indicates lower. The right panels indicate field line and current direction at different angles. When the angle between the two needles was 0°, the current distribution was more uniform and most of the electric field lines ran parallel to the nerve.
