• Provide stable housing and supports for homeless youth. • This will be achieved through: provision of family-like residential care for young people under 16 who are unable to live at home through the Lighthouse Project; Youth Wellbeing Officers who will provide community youth support and advice; housing for youth transitioning from statutory services or shelters including Youth Coaches to support these transitions; and identification of properties suitable for conversion to share housing for young people. • It will include a residential care pilot program for young people under 16 who are not in the care of the state and are unable to live at home. The pilot will run over 3 years and provide a family like environment, accommodation and a program of therapeutic care with a focus on family restoration. • It will provide 20 modular youth homes across four sites around the State. • This initiative will identify 10 Housing Tasmania properties suitable for conversion into three to four-bedroom share housing properties for young people. |
