(A) Cells (2 × 106) were treated with BB aqueous extracts at indicated concentrations (0, 75, 150, or 300 μg protein/ml) for 24 h, and the levels of MMP-9 were determined by an ELISA. Values are expressed as the mean ± SD (*p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, and ***p < 0.001 as compared with the PBS treated group). (B) BB aqueous extracts inhibited the invasiveness of A549 and H1299 cells. Cells (2 × 105) were exposed to 100 μg protein/ml BB aqueous extracts for the indicated periods. Invasion was assessed by the chemotactic Transwell assay. Original magnification, 200×.
