Monolayers inoculated with strain 434 or DK20 were incubated in medium lacking glucose, with or without CH. After 24 h glucose was introduced to devoid monolayers by addition of CMEM (434 only). Morphology (fluorescence microscopy) and infectivity yield were assessed at 40 h p.i.
