Spending is displayed as (a) the relationship between time since CWD detection and spending and (b) the relationship between time since CWD detection and spending weighted by the number of deer hunters in each state. Deer hunter numbers were based on the 2011 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation [35], the last year state-level data for deer hunter numbers were presented in the survey.
