Effect of ChoP on susceptibility to the bactericidal activity of LL-37/hCAP18. ChoP-on (solid symbols) and ChoP-off (open symbols) constitutive mutants were compared in unrelated strains with different LPS structures, unencapsulated type d strain Rd (A) and type b strain Eagan (B). Cells were treated for 60 min at 37°C with LL-37/hCAP18 at the concentrations indicated on the x axis, and the number of survivors was determined in viable counts.
