A likely interpretation of our results. 1: Thioglycollate injection initiates neutrophil-predominant peritonitis. 2: Neutrophils induce IL-1β production likely through NLRP3 inflammasome activation. 3: Released IL-1β activates endothelial cells leading to increased P-selectin expression. 4: Increased P-selectin expression results in slower neutrophil rolling and higher neutrophils extravasation.
