At the top, the longest Tau isoform found in humans, containing all the alternatively spliced exons. Red boxes represent the microtubule binding domain (MTBD), while the N-terminal projection domain is represented by exon 2 (orange) and exon 3 (yellow). For Big Tau (4+), Exon 6+ isoforms and W-Tau only the 2N4R isoforms are depicted, but all combinations are possible.
