Suppression of TLR2 or TLR4 expression attenuates induction of osteoclast differentiation marker genes by Mfa1. Tlr2 siRNA and Tlr4 siRNA-transfected cells were prestimulated with RANKL for 24 h and then cultured for 48 h in the presence of 1 μg/mL Mfa1 or FimA fimbriae. mRNA levels were then examined by qPCR.
