Dependent variable, Deaf students’ acquisition of declarative knowledge in phase 1; Independent variable, Accommodation comprising three treatments of sign language interpreter only (Group S), captions only (Group C), and sign language interpreter and captions combined (Group S&C). The score utilized for the analysis of the three quizzes is the average of the total of 75 points possible for these assessments, which is 25; the score utilized for the exam is 50.
