(C) Control section incubated with control serum. The arrows point to AMs. Note that AMs immunoreactive with MIP-2 are present only within the lungs of control mice. The lung of the diabetic mouse showed no AMs staining for MIP-2. Staining for MIP-2 was specific, since no staining was present in sections of the lung incubated with purified IgG from control serum.
