TABLE 3.
Sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of the UPSIT score to differentiate ILBD and control
UPSIT SCORES | ILBD (N=47) | CONTROL (N=137) | SENSITIVITY | SPECIFICITY | ACCURACY | AUC |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Predicted ILBD (UPSIT <23) | 23 | 28 | 48.9% | 79.6% | 71.7% | 62.2% |
Predicted control (UPSIT >23) | 24 | 109 |
ROC analysis was used together with Youden index to choose the optimal cut-off point for UPSIT to differentiate ILBD from controls. Maximal sensitivity and specificity was achieved with UPSIT <23 for ILBD versus controls.
UPSIT: University of Pennsylvania Smell Identification Test; ILBD: incidental Lewy body disease; AUC: area under the curve; ROC: receiver-operating characteristics
