Model of 5-HT₂R reorganization and clustering during JCPyV entry. Receptor-mediated infection of JCPyV is initiated by attaching to cell-surface receptors including sialic-acid containing LSTc or GAGs, shown at 0 mpi. At 5 mpi, 5-HT₂Rs cluster and virions are localized to the center of the cluster, and this timing is consistent with viral entry via clathrin-mediated endocytosis.
