PBP induced apoptosis and caused MMP depolarization in A549 cells. (a) A549 cells were incubated with PBP (0, 20, 40 and 80 μg/mL) for 48 h and then stained with Annexin V-FITC and PI for evaluation by flow cytometry; (b) The MitoTracker Red CMXRos fluorescent probe was used to detect the MMP in A549 cells using a mitochondrial membrane potential detection kit and laser confocal microscopy; (c) Histograms of the apoptotic rates of A549 cells treated with PBP; (d) Histograms were used to determine the average fluorescence intensity; (e) Expression of apoptosis-related proteins was analyzed by western blot analysis.
