The R119C or R251C proteins, but not the wild type proteins, exhibit dimeric or tetrameric structures in a polyacrylamide gel with a full-size gel image. (A) As the control experiments, the lysates of COS-7 cells transfected with mock, an empty vector expressing GFP, or with a plasmid encoding the wild type (WT) were applied to polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and detected using immunoblotting with an anti-GFP antibody. (B) The lysates of COS-7 cells transfected with an empty vector or with a plasmid encoding the wild type (WT) or the respective mutated constructs were applied to polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and detected using immunoblotting with an anti-GFP antibody. The positions corresponding to monomeric or polymeric structures are shown.
