Hazard ratios for mortality from CVD subtypes by sex using spline analysis. Restricted cubic splines of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) with five knots (5th, 27.5th, 50th, 72.5th and 95th percentiles) and 125 mg/dL as a reference were used. Hazard ratios and 95% CIs were calculated using Cox proportional-hazards models after adjustment for the same variables as in Figure 2.
