Both ERK1/2 and p38 MAP kinases are involved in EPEC-induced IL-8 synthesis in T84 cells. IL-8 content was estimated in the supernatant of T84 cells after 6 h of infection with WT strain E2348/69. When indicated, the inhibitors PD98059 and SB203580, alone or together, were added to the cell medium 90 min prior to infection, and inhibitors were present during the infection.
