I Permanent pacing is indicated in patients with high-grade or symptomatic AV block attributable to a known potentially reversible cause when AV block does not resolve despite treatment of the underlying cause. C-LD 43
IIa Pacemaker implantation is reasonable in Chagas disease and advanced second- or third-degree AV block, as spontaneous resolution is unlikely. ICD implantation may be a reasonable alternative. C-LD 44
III No benefit Permanent pacing should not be performed in patients who had acute AV block attributable to a known reversible cause, when there is recovery of normal AV conduction. C-EO
