Examples of CNS TTR stages. Stage 1 (1a-1c), stage 2 (2a-2c), and stage 3 (3a-3c). Leptomeninges and subarachnoid vessels are involved earlier, including in the brainstem region in stage 1. In stage 2, there is increased severity of the amyloid deposition and involvement of the perforating cortical vessels and subpial region.
