High intensity running and kicking are reported as the most prevalent activities leading up to thigh and groin injuries.
Most of the studies reporting activity of injuries showed high risk of bias with the main limitation being methods implemented to report injuries and inciting activities.
The available literature does not allow for clear and reliable practical recommendations.
Future studies should define injuries using the most recent guidelines and should report the inciting activities using a standardised system which requires appropriate development.
