SOX9 gene silencing by specific siRNA decreases Type IV collagen protein levels in human mesangial cells. SOX9-silenced cells were stimulated with 10 ng/mL TGF-β1 for 48 h. COLIV protein levels were evaluated by Western blot in the supernatant of mesangial cells. Sox9 protein levels were evaluated by Western blot to corroborate a correct silencing protocol.
