Figure 4

Neutrophils are the main cellular source of IL-17A at 7 dpi.

Double immunofluorescence staining for IL-17A (Cy3, red) and the astrocyte marker GFAP (Cy2, green) (A), the microglia marker Iba-1 (Cy3, red) (B), the neuronal marker NeuN (Cy2, green) (C), or the neutrophil marker S100A8 (Cy3, red) (D). Immunostaining demonstrated that TBI triggered the infiltration of neutrophils, which were the main cellular source of IL-17A. Scale bars: 50 μm. CON: Control; DAPI: 4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole; dpi: days post-injury; GFAP: glial fibrillary acidic protein; Iba1: ionized calcium binding adaptor molecule 1; IL-17A: interleukin-17A; NeuN: neuronal nuclear protein.
